Youth Commitment & Accountability Forum

A youth-led initiative tracking accountability for commitments made to youth under national and global frameworks — equipping young people to monitor, gather evidence and advocate for action.
The Youth Commitments and Accountability Forum is Mulika Tanzania’s youth-led initiative designed to strengthen young people’s role in tracking and promoting accountability for commitments made to youth under national, regional, international and global frameworks. Through the workshop, young people are equipped with practical knowledge and tools to understand these commitments, assess progress in their implementation, identify gaps and use evidence to engage and advocate with responsible institutions. The forum brings together young people, youth-led organizations, civil society organizations, government institutions and other relevant stakeholders to jointly review youth commitments and strengthen constructive, evidence-based accountability. As part of this work, Mulika has established a Youth Accountability Network to sustain youth participation in monitoring and advocacy, alongside a digital tracking mechanism that supports continued tracking, evidence submission and reporting on the implementation of youth commitments. Ultimately, the forum seeks to ensure that commitments made to young people go beyond policy documents and translate into meaningful action and improvements in their lives, guided by the principle: “From Commitments to Evidence, from Evidence to Accountability, and from Accountability to Action.”
