Linda Uhai is the Swahili phrase which stands for ‘protect life’, the philosophy behind this name is to awake the community, youth, and decision-makers to take necessary actions for mitigation and adaptation to climate change impacts in our community. Linda Uhai calls for actions on different levels including behavioral change and culture of being responsible consumers.

September being month of climate action particularly due to United Nations Climate Action Summit called by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and a wave of people’s climate strike and march around the world, Linda Uhai has the component of a climate march in Tanzania’s commercial capital city Dar es Salaam and capital city of Dodoma. The theme of Linda Uhai is ‘chukua hatua sasa dhidi ya mabadiliko ya tabianchi’ which is translated to ‘act now for climate change’.

The project targeted pupils, students from secondary school and university along reaching out to local communities.
